How would you explain the significance of having a video script or storyboard to an employer who doesn’t know what it is?

I would say a video script or storyboard is like a map. If you don’t have it, you can still try to make a video, but you might get lost or waste time. With a script, you know what you’re going to say, and with a storyboard, you know how it’s going to look.
When I started making my own videos, I used to just record and hope it turned out okay. But then I had to re-do parts over and over. Once I started using scripts and simple drawings (even just stick figures!), I finished videos faster, with fewer mistakes.
So I’d tell an employer: planning your content before filming saves time, helps your message be clear, and makes you look more professional—even if it’s just a short Instagram video.
